This week’s Transfer Talk is not about the moves that could happen, but instead the ones that failed, as well as why they failed. Naturally we kick off with Kylian Mbappe, who sees his contract expire at PSG next summer. However, despite Real Madird making mental offers, the French giants kept turning them down, setting it up for Mbappe to just join Los Blancos on a free.

Manchester United sold just one player this summer, with Anthony Martial rejecting a move away, and Donny van de Beek being blocked from completing a switch to Everton. They also failed in a last-ditch attempt to sign Kieran Trippier, a player Arsenal were also linked with. And speaking of the Gunners, Eddie Nketiah and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are staying put, despite the former discussing personal terms with Crystal Palace and the latter calling the club out on Instagram.

Chelsea failed in their attempts to sign Jules Kounde, but that doesn’t mean interest is dead, whilst Callum Hudson-Odoi will be fighting for minutes at Chelsea after they blocked a loan move to Borussia Dortmund. By now, you all know Harry Kane is staying at Spurs and that they failed to sign Adama Traore, whilst at Dortmund, Erling Haaland’s future is now up for grabs - but where will he end up?
