Performance Enhancing Drugs and steroids have been unfortunately associated with wrestling for a long time. The fact that they were used by many in the industry for a long time is very clear. In the 80s and 90s the need for big men was evident in the industry. Be it in WWE or any other promotion, the message was simple – the bigger the better.
Wrestlers were huge and larger than life characters throughout. They had incredible physiques and got pushes faster than the smaller guys. There was a time in 1993 when Vince McMahon was accused of distributing steroids to his wrestlers by the US Government.
This brought about a change in the wrestling direction as then, smaller wrestlers, and those who didn’t look like small houses started to be booked better by the company. Wrestlers like Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart were booked extremely strongly at this time.
Even so, steroids in wrestling remained a problem and some wrestlers continued to use them to enhance their physique so as to become more believable as the top stars that they were booked as being. Eventually, severe consequences had to be introduced as it became clear that the use of steroids was having a severe effect on wrestlers in the business. Now, the business is cleaner and there’s a process so as to ensure that wrestlers do not use it.
With that being the case, this is Wrestling Hub, and in this video you are watching 12 times wrestlers admitted to using steroids.
