The only Ferrari 550 Maranello Prodrive from Japan ex Hitotsuyama Racing Team - Goodwood FOS 2023

The fantastic and unique Ferrari 550 Maranello Prodrive, chassis number CRD07, raced in Japan with the Hitotsuyama Racing team. The car appeared again in Europe at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Prodrive built only 10 of these examples, and this was the only one delivered new in Japan to the Hitotsuyama team. The private team competed in the Japanese GT Championship in 2004 and subsequently in the Super GT in 2005, having as rivals the leading Japanese manufacturers in official form. In the 2006 and 2007 seasons, the car took part in the Japanese Le Mans Challenge championship, which was run according to the technical regulations of the Automobile Club L'Ouest, the same used for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, therefore the same as the European GT1 cars. With drivers Naoki Hattori, Tatsuya Kataoka and Eiichi Tajima, the car won four of the 19 races in which it participated, winning the title in 2006 and 2007. After the racing season, the vehicle remained in Japan for many years at Hitotsuyama Racing until 2023. It took part in the Le Mans Classic in the Racing Legend category after a careful restoration by Venture Engineering. Mechanically, it adopts a 5,983 cc (365.1 cu/in) 65° V12 engine positioned longitudinally at the front and capable of developing 600 bhp (448 kW) at 6,400 rpm and 600 Nm (443 ft lbs) at 5,000 rpm min. The gearbox is a 6-speed sequential XTrac, and the car weighing approximately 1,100 kg. Questa è la fantastica ed unica Ferrari 550 Maranello Prodrive, numero di telaio CRD07, che ha corso in Giappone con il team Hitotsuyama Racing. L'auto ha fatto la sua comparsa nuovamente in Europa al Goodwood Festival of Speed 2023. Furono costruite solo 10 di questi esemplari da Prodrive e questa fu l'unica consegnata nuova in Giappone, per l'appunto al team Hitotsuyama. Il team privato gareggiò nel Campionato GT giapponese nel 2004 e successivamente nel Super GT nel 2005 avendo come rivali le principali case costruttrici nipponiche in forma ufficiale. Nelle stagioni 2006 e nel 2007 la vettura prese parte al campionato giapponese Le Mans Challenge che si correva secondo il regolamento tecnico dell'Automobile Club L'Ouest, lo stesso utilizzato per la 24 Ore di Le Mans, quindi lo stesso delle lvetture europee GT1. Con i piloti Naoki Hattori, Tatsuya Kataoka e Eiichi Tajima l'auto vinse quattro delle 19 gare a cui partecipò conquistando il titolo in entrambi gli anni, il 2006 ed il 2007. Finita la stagione delle corse l'auto rimase custodita in Giappone per tanti anni presso la Hitotsuyama Racing finchè nel 2023 prende parte alla Le Mans Classic’s nella categoria Racing Legend, dopo un attento e minuzioso restauro compiuto dalla Venture Engineering. Meccanicamente adotta un motore V12 65° da 5,983 cc (365.1 cu/in) posizionato in modo lungitudinale all'anteriore e capace di svulippare 600 bhp (448 kW) a 6,400 giri/min e 600 Nm (443 ft lbs) a 5,000 giri/min. Il cambio è un XTrac sequenziale a 6 rapporti ed il peso della vettura è di circa 1.100 Kg.
