Lionel Messi will receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Argentina's largest university. The UBA's Superior Council approved the Doctor Honoris Causa unanimously, citing his career as an example of "excellence, perseverance, humility, and ethical conduct" .

The award recognizes his role in leading Argentina to the 2021 Copa América, the 2022 Finalissima, the 2022 World Cup, and the 2024 Copa América, as well as the 2026 World Cup final run . UBA Rector Ricardo Gelpi said the honor goes beyond football: "We also want to recognize a humble, persevering person, an example and ambassador of our popular culture and national identity" .

Messi will receive the distinction on October 6, hours before his final match for Argentina against Benin at the Estadio Monumental . What do you think of this tribute? ????
