Mercedes dropped a bombshell ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix, with news its chief technical officer, Mike Elliott, had departed the squad after 11 years spent at Brackley.

Team boss Toto Wolff said it wasn’t performance related, stating Elliott was his “number one employee for many years”, but that the squad’s recent “new era” performance drop had taken a “hard toll” on him. Watch the video, and tell us what you think in the comments…
