Wow. Some blockbuster news broke this morning - Roman Abramovich has recieved sanctions against him. This means that the current takeover talks between him, Raine and the proposed new owners including Nick Candy, Todd Boehly, Hansjorg Wyss etc have hit a set back as the current Chelsea boss is unable to sell the club. His frozen assets mean that he is unable to conduct any financial transactions, and that Chelsea Football Club have also been affected.

The club as a result cannot extend contracts of players, cannot sell or buy players, cannot sell tickets (season ticket holders can still go to games) and also cannot sell any merchandise until the freeze is lifted. It could hold huge implications for the future of the club, and may end up deciding the futures of Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen & Cesar Azpilicueta and leaving them with zero chance of renewing.
