Why Have You Stayed Silent? Racism In Non League Football

Racism is painfully evident within Football, and in the UK incidents are rising, drastically. No more so than in Non League Football, which Kick It Out, the UK Equality Organisation, described as the “Wild West”, a “free for all”.

Through deeply personal testaments, this film, produced and directed by AreaBoyz, explores the shocking first hand experiences of a collection of players and managers from Non League football.

Through recounting their experiences, they are determined to raise media awareness to the climate of rising hatred and tribalism that is ruining the game for so many, no footballer should be forced to retire early, no young player should give up on their dream and no fan should be scared to attend a game, all to escape abuse.

Silence won’t fight racism, we must all speak up if we are to stand up and fight racial prejudice.
