Max Verstappen’s commitment to continue in F1 looked more stable post-Miami, with the Dutchman stating he’s finally able to “drive how he wants to drive” his Red Bull RB22, after feeling like a “total passenger”.

Verstappen has been the most outspoken on F1’s new era cars, but also his own Red Bull: that he said was unresponsive to changes and could feel different from one session to the other. Watch the video, and tell us what you think in the comments…

Has Mercedes outsmarted McLaren for Antonelli’s win – what’s behind Leclerc’s huge penalty?

Andrea Kimi Antonelli has won his third Formula 1 Grand Prix in a row and now holds a remarkable record. Toto Wolff described it as Antonelli’s best F1 race so far, but at the same time said that the handbrake needs to be applied to stop the hype in Italy. Lando Norris, meanwhile, believed that McLaren lost the race due to Mercedes’ undercut, but is that really the case? Ronald Vording discusses it in detail in a new episode of the F1 Update, as well as the time penalties for Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen after the race. There is also attention for Red Bull’s major upgrade package, the changes to Max Verstappen’s steering system, and the initial reaction from F1 drivers to the rule changes for the Miami Grand Prix: have they helped or not?

Why F1 changed Miami GP start time – Verstappen reveals hidden factor in Red Bull’s turnaround

The FIA and Formula 1 have decided to move the start time for the F1 Miami Grand Prix forward by three hours, to 1:00 PM local time. In addition to the forecasted rain, this is mainly due to the risk of thunderstorms and local legislation in Florida, which requires the event to be suspended and all attendees to seek shelter in such conditions. F1 now hopes to have found a better window, although it does have consequences for the rest of the timetable. Ronald Vording discusses it in detail in a new episode of the F1 Update, along with FIA adjustments for wet-weather races. There is also attention for Kimi Antonelli’s pole position, McLaren’s day of two halves, and above all for the remarkable turnaround at Red Bull. The upgrades appear to have had a major effect, although Max Verstappen also shared another, more hidden factor in his media session with the Dutch press on Saturday.

Norris’ F1 sprint pole explained — What’s behind Red Bull's Macarena wing?

Lando Norris has secured pole for the Formula 1 sprint race in Miami. Whilst many might have expected Mercedes to dominate again, it was McLaren who topped the times after SQ3. Norris explained that the papaya team always performs well in Miami, although the major upgrade package undoubtedly plays a significant role as well. Mercedes hasn’t brought any major new parts with them this weekend, but when will they arrive? Ronald Vording discusses it in a new episode of the new F1 Update, from the Miami paddock, as well as Ferrari’s form and the major upgrades that allowed Max Verstappen to take a step forward – including the background to Red Bull’s own version of the Macarena rear wing. Finally, we look at whether the revised qualifying rules have helped and why Pirelli would find data from a wet race on Sunday quite useful.
But, off-track, the reigning World Champion has cleaned-up - first, with the Brit named as of TIME magazine’s top-100 most influential people of 2026, with Norris one of 16 innovators. The 26-year-old, though, was also lauded last week, in Spanish-capital Madrid, which hosted 2026’s Laureus World Sports Awards, a celebration of excellence in world sport.

F1 heads to Miami following the biggest in-season technical tweaks in the hybrid era, and huge expectations for what it hopes to achieve - with both drivers and fans keen to get the sport back on-track. But regardless of the results, F1’s president and CEO Stefano Domenicali says the sport has already won with its new formula, and the three races run so far in Australia, China and Japan. Domenicali is F1’s top man, but he’s also a veteran of the sport - having been part of Ferrari from 1991 to 2014 - and a voice of reason who says the rules are meant to evolve with discussion.

Mercedes driver George Russell is right to be confident going into the Miami Grand Prix this weekend, given he can fight for poles and wins with his W17, even if the Silver Arrows have never won in Miami; with the Brit claiming the outfit’s best result there last year with third. But, to win, he’s got to put a stop to Antonelli’s momentum, and retake the top result for himself - though Russell is far from ruffled, especially given the difference between their experience.

Is Miami game-on for Ferrari? #Ferrari #Automobile #F1 #Shorts

Ferrari may not have won a race so far in 2026, but it’s definitely taken a step forward in the sport’s new era, with a podium at each of the opening three races in Australia, China and Japan. The squad has gotten the jump on its rivals - literally - with lightning starts, care of its smaller turbo that requires less time to spool-up. But, in Japan, the car looked like it was a handful for the drivers. Ferrari, like its rivals, is expected to bring a major upgrade package to the next race in Miami, including a revised floor, halo wings and potentially its “Macarena” rear wing that famously rotates.

Red Bull’s show runs, which bring F1 to the people, are legendary, but the brand has shared more from its recent trip to San Francisco; a few weeks out from the sport’s return to action in Miami. The event began with a spectacular stunt held on Broadway’s famous 11-degree incline, where rallycross champion Mitch Guthrie Junior jumped his Ford Raptor T1+ car over the spinning 2011 title-winning Red Bull F1 car, driven by ex-Grand Prix pilot Scott Speed. The action then moved on to Marina Boulevard, in view of the city’s world-famous Golden Gate bridge, where Red Bull reserve driver Yuki Tsunoda took over the 2011 car to wow the crowds.

Making an immediate impact in Formula 1 can be extremely tough. As Cadillac and Audi – one a new entity, the other having taken over Sauber – prepare for their debuts, we highlight the best performances by new teams in the history of the championship.

In the latest of Autosport’s Top 10s, host Kevin Turner selects the 10 best world championship debuts by teams, while renowned F1 journalist and author Maurice Hamilton decides whether or not he agrees with the ranking.

For this list, we have focused on the very first grand prix for each team, rather than the whole season. We have excluded constructors that were well established when the world championship began in 1950, so no Alfa Romeo (1-2-3 on its debut) or Ferrari (second at Monaco).
