Why Did Andrade Defeat Rey Mysterio to Become the New US Champion
Ever since Andrade was called up to the main roster in 2018, reports of him being slated for a massive push have become a staple on the dirt sheets across the internet. While it always did look like Andrade was being positioned to break out, but lazy booking constantly delayed it. Almost two years into his main roster career, the future main eventer finally won his first singles title. He defeated Rey Mysterio on the Boxing Day Madison Square Garden special to become the new US Champion. Mysterio had defeated AJ Styles on the 25th of November to capture the red, white and blue title. Mysterio’s title reign has been uneventful, as it definitely was a consolation prize after his WWE Championship feud with Brock Lesnar got him super over. Andrade has been in a feud with Humberto Carrillo on Raw, and actually has been losing to Carrillo in their last few encounters.
