Trentino took an early lead in the first set and kept Lube at bay throughout for a relatively comfortable finish.

The two sides were neck-and-neck well into the business end of the second, before Lube started blocking everything in site and broke away after 22-22 to finish the set with two monster stuffs from Dragan Stankovic, Yoandy Leal and Robertlandy Simon.

Trentino saw their first substantial lead in the third wasted as Lube rallied from 16-13 down for four straight points to go ahead 16-17. But Trentino persevered and built up another lead at 23-19 before Srecko Lisinac spiked from the left and Sokolov followed with a wide attack to put Trentino in front again overall.

The fourth set turned into a bit of an anticlimax, with Trentino on a roll and unstoppable, breaking away after the second technical timeout. It was downhill all the way from there on, with tournament MVP Aaron Russel putting the final cherry on the cake with his last point in the game.

Aaron Russell was top scorer of the final with 20 points, as a total of five Trentino players scored in double digits: Uros Kovacevic (16), Srecko Lisinac and Luca Vettori (12 each), and Davide Candellaro (10).

Most was close between the two sides, but Trentino were just the more efficient in attacking. With 69% (9/13) from Lisinac and 61% (13/23) from Kovacevic, Trentino overall had 55 kills from 97 swings for 57%. Lube were restricted to 44% (41/94).

Earlier on Sunday evening Fakel Novy Urngoy had claimed the bronze medal with a four-set win over Asseco Resovia Rzeszow.
