Urmia, Iran, June 15, 2019 - Pool hosts Iran claimed a memorable victory against world champions Poland in the 2019 men's FIVB Volleyball Nations League in Urmia on Saturday.

Poland Head Coach, Vital Heynen: "Saeid Marouf and I will have coffee tomorrow and I will pay for it because I lost today! It was a nice match. We always fight to win. I should thank the amazing fans of Urmia. They deserved this victory."

Poland Captain, Grzegorz Lomacz: "We knew that it would be a tough game. We fought to the end and I think it is a positive point for us. Congratulations to Iran."

Iran Head Coach, Igor Kolakovic: "It was a big fight. We were nervous in some parts of the game. I think Vital deserves to be praised because he has four trophies. It is so difficult to return against Poland but we did it. Iran can fight better than any other team. In Urmia, the spectators pushed us to win. I hope they will do it again tomorrow."

Iran Captain, Saeid Marouf: "Poland played a very good game. They were great in serves. I did not expect to be 2-1 behind. We knew that it would be a hard game. Today we really felt the importance of fans. They pushed us perfectly. I am happy that we came back and won. I think all of the people in Iran are satisfied."
