Though their time in charge has seen players like Ronaldo, Pogba, and van Persie come through the side, as well as multiple Premier League titles and a Champions League, they’ve also taken tens of millions out of the club, let the stadium fall into disrepair, and now have seen the biggest team in the world overtaken domestically by rivals Liverpool and Manchester City. Today we look at how they bungled Alex Ferguson’s succession, built a messy, incoherent squad, and treated United as their personal piggybank, from shutting down the women’s team to trying to get the Super League off the ground.
