Seeing the high-speed historic racing classic cars on the old Monza Banking track is a rare sight. I had the pleasure of attending a race of the Modena Cento Ore Classic, an international event for vintage cars, right on the glorious ring of the circuit known all over the world and where some Italian Grand Prix has held Italy in the 30s, 50s and 60s. Currently, for security and stability reasons, it's no longer possible to race there while the lower part, which is not very solicited, remains practicable. With a total length of 4250 meters, the two bankings incline about 38° and 40' and join the two flat straight sections. The inclination serves to reduce the action of the centrifugal force, and this allowed at the time to reach the impressive speed of over 300 Km/h.
In this particular historical-motor context, a selection of extraordinary cars such as the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupè, Ferrari 250 GT SWB, 308 GTB Gr.4, 365 GTB4 Daytona, Ford GT40, Lancia Stratos, Lotus Elan, Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA, Jaguar E-Type, Porsche and many others competed to relive the sensations of the past. By the admission of the drivers themselves, it was an unforgettable experience.
I have to thank my friend and Youtuber @19Bozzy92 with whom I collaborated to realise this video. Enjoy!
