Edge INJURED? Randy Orton Vs. Edge WAS THE GREATEST MATCH EVER? Bobby Lashley GOT SCREWED?

WWE Backlash became the third major WWE show to be held without an audience and ended up faring pretty well. Headlined by the ‘greatest wrestling match ever’, let’s take a look at what happened on the show. We are the Wrestling Hub and this is the PPV Report: Backlash. Edge vs Randy Orton (Greatest Wrestling Match Ever)
I would fall short of words to describe the action that this match had, as it saw all the fundamentals of wrestling applied and amped up to it’s max for the biggest possible impact. From the different camera angles to suiting Charles Robinson in the same referee uniform used by the refs in the 80s, the match did give a genuine big match feel. The moves were ferocious and came one after the other. A headbutt even saw Orton bleed, adding to the vibe of the match. After a whole bunch of spears, RKOs, Edge-cutions, hanging DDT’s and even a Rock Bottom and a Pedigree, Orton would bring back the punt to put Edge away and win the match.
Did the Legend Killer kill another legend? Randy Orton vs Edge may have not been the greatest wrestling match ever, but it surely was an epic saga between these two men. The near-falls and the constant back and forth action built the tension of the match with every move. There were some big spots for a match which had someone with a bad neck wrestle (two superplexes), but that is mainly a testament to the safe worker that Orton is. Orton should go onto a main event feud next, maybe even emerge as Drew McIntyre’s next challenger. Edge on the other hand took a hellacious beating and put on a great show, but may not be able to jump back into the swing of things immediately...
A piece of news that has come out of this match is with regards to Edge’s future. This match had been pre-recorded before the actual live broadcast and Edge seemingly injured himself in the tapings. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com has reported that Edge suffered a serious triceps injury at some point in the match. The exact timetable of Edge’s injury isn’t clear, but a triceps tear is known to be quite the debilitating injury which could keep Edge out of action for anywhere up to 9 months. We can expect a confirmation of the injury on Raw and whether this chapter was enough for Edge to finally hang up his boots this time.
