1962 Ferrari 250 GTE Polizia, History of the vehicle used by Maresciallo Armando Spatafora [ENG SUB]

What you see is the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTE Polizia, the only car from Maranello that provided active service at the Police Headquarters in Rome from 1963 to 1973. Three people were trained to drive the vehicle at the time, one of these was Marshal Armando Spatafora, famous for his legendary chasings. One of all, never confirmed but not denied, were in pursuit of thugs, he led the car down the Spanish steps in Rome (Trinità dei Monti). I had the pleasure of interviewing an Italian State Police officer whom I have to thank and provided me with further information.

Quella che vedete è la Ferrari 250 GTE della Polizia, anno 1962 ed unica vettura di Maranello che prestò effettivo servizio prezzo la Questura di Roma dal 1963 al 1973. Tre le persone che all'epoca furono addestrate per condurre l'auto, fre queste il Maresciallo Armando Spatafora, famoso per i suo riocamboleschi inseguimenti, fra tutti, mai confermato ma neanche smentito, dove all'inseguimento di malviventi, condusse la vettura giù dalla scalinata di Piazza di Spagna. Ho avuto il piacere di intervistare un'agente della Polizia di Stato italiana che ringrazio e mi ha fornito ulteriori informazioni.
