Randy Orton is one of the most decorated WWE Superstars of all time and will go down in history as one of the greatest ever. Orton has always had a bit of a sense of humour, so when he decided to tease fans by suggesting that he might be headed to All Elite Wrestling, people online ate it all up. On paper, it seems like Orton will never leave the company that has made him a star, but the fact remains that Orton has done pretty much everything there is to do in WWE and hasn’t really done anything of note in a long time. WWE’s Apex Predator may be considering a new challenge, and what would be better than a TV-14 alternative to the company he has spent the entirety of his career at. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Orton’s contract with WWE is coming to an end in the summer of next year. Dave Meltzer has suggested that Orton doesn’t actually want to join AEW, but is rather using that possibility as leverage to force WWE’s hand and give him a better deal. Orton has already praised AEW and is reported to be open to discussions with the promotion. If AEW actually has a real chance at signing Orton, there is no doubt that the Khans will jump at the chance. Signing another multi-time WWE Champion will be a major coup for AEW and will go a long way towards growing AEW’s audience as it works to establish itself with weekly programming.
