Multiple superstars that we thought would be WWE lifers like Heath Slater and Zack Ryder were all let go as WWE had to face the brunt of the financial issue that the corona virus pandemic has created. However, not all released talents see their careers die when they leave the WWE. On the contrary, many talents thrive after being let go by the company. We see that in a lot of the talent that AEW has today and a lot of the top superstars across the indies have had some relation with WWE at different points of their career.
