In 2017, WWE had made a very puzzling decision of making Sasha Banks and Bayley an on-screen pair all of a sudden. Everyone assumed that this was done so that they could make Bayle and Banks feud with each other heading into WrestleMania 34, but that never happened. The belief was later made that this would happen at SummerSlam, but that didn’t happen either. With the rumblings that WWE would unveil women’s tag team championship, this year long build started to make sense. Even though people still thought that the fallout would come in the middle of the elimination chamber match or at the end of it, we didn’t see that happen and Banks and Bayley became the inaugural WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
