In a battle of two of the world's pound-for-pound best, Jorge "El Niño de Oro" Linares battled for his World Boxing Association (WBA) and Ring Magazine Lightweight titles against Vasyl "Hi-Tech" Lomachenko on Saturday, May 12th, at "The World's Most Famous Arena", Madison Square Garden. Linares vs. Lomachenko was televised live and exclusively on ESPN and ESPN Deportes.

Lomachenko got off the mat to take a hard fought win over Linares via 10th round KO. Linares scored a sixth-round knockdown but it wasn't enough to stop the ukrainian.
