Hockey Days Alberta 2015

Kindergarten to grade six-aged youth in Alberta will benefit from the continuation of a partnership between Hockey Alberta and Tundra Process Solutions. Tundra and Hockey Alberta are teaming up for the second year to host the True Spirit of Hockey Day, in conjunction with the Hockey Alberta provincial championships, and other Hockey Alberta events in March and April 2015.

Students in participating schools, regardless of family income or gender, will be exposed to the game of hockey. During this day-long event, students will learn the rules of the game, engage with their classmates, and learn the importance of teamwork and skill building. Children also learn about plans and options to subsidize hockey through non-profit associations and grants.

True Spirit of Hockey Day events will be held in designated communities as part of provincial championships in March, as well as other Hockey Alberta tournaments in April. Hockey Alberta is currently accepting applications from Local Minor Hockey Associations to host provincials (download from hockeyalberta.ca), and included in the application package is the opportunity to work with a local school to host True Spirit of Hockey Day. Host communities for True Spirit of Hockey Day events will be announced in mid-December, in conjunction with the announcements of provincial championship locations.
