Ruse, Bulgaria, September 12, 2018 - France started the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship in the best possible way! In the opening match in Pool B Laurent Tillie’s team achieved a remarkable win against China by 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-17) in “Arena Monbat”.

Stephan Boyer led the way with 23 points for the winners. Kevin Tillie finished with 10 and Earvin Ngapeth added 7. For China Chuan Jiang scored 10 points.

In the opening set the best player on the field who stole the show was Stephen Boyer! The French opposite was on fire in the first minutes and scored 11 points!

The European champions from 2015 played really well in attack during the second set and didn’t have problems to make it 25-21 after another unforced error by Raul Lozano’s players.

In the third set France played like a real volleyball machine! The captain Benjamin Toniutti took the right decisions near the net, Stephan Boyer was unstoppable in attack and after two aces in a row, the Europeans won by 25-17.

For France it was a fourth consecutive victory against this opponent in their seventh encounter in the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championships.
