Canada National Volleyball Team | Unbelievable Moments | VNL - 2018

Canada stunned the world in 2017 by making the Final Six of the FIVB World League, eliminating Russia in pool play. After losing to eventual champions France in the semi-finals, Canada knocked out arch-rivals USA 3-1 to win the bronze medal. It was the national team’s best achievement to date in international volleyball. Canada have consistently participated in the World League after their debut in 1999. Their best finish prior to last year’s bronze was fifth place.
Canada's other achievements include a fourth place finish at the Los Angeles 1984 Olympic Games, and two bronze medals at the Pan American Games in 1979 and 1999. They have participated in four Olympic Games and finished in fifth place finish at the latest Games in Rio, returning Olympic scene after a quarter-century absence.
Canada hosted the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, where they beat Puerto Rico to win the bronze medal. They competed at the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup in 2015 for the first time in 12 years, finishing seventh. They last appeared in 2003, also finishing seventh. Canada also finished joint seventh at the 2014 FIVB Volleyball World Championship.
