Brasilia, Brazil, June 28, 2019 - Pushed by the fans, Brazil came back to defeat France by 3-1 (23-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-23) on the first night of week 5 of the Men's VNL. Yoandy Leal (15) and Douglas Souza (13) were the best scorers for the home team.

Brazil Coach Renan Dal Zotto: "We were seeking this spot in the Final Six, but besides that, we are always focused on improvement of the team as a whole. We are evolving. We are happy with that, and tomorrow it will be another challenger."

Brazil Captain Bruno Rezende: "It was an important win. We played with one of the big teams. We demonstrated a great defensive system, and we were able to show all our enhancements as a team, how we have been evolving along this competition. We want to keep going in this way, and, of course, with the support of all those fans that are passionate about us and volleyball."

France Coach Laurent Tillie: "I think it was a very nice match, with a lot of defence. We played good with our service, block and attack. We also commited many errors, we were not so efficient with our attacking."

France Captain Benjamin Toniutti: "For sure we are disappointed about this game because we committed some mistakes that we do not make very often. Brazil is a hard team to beat, and when you do so much errors it is impossible to defeat them. They made two substitutions that worked out well. Now we need to rest and think about the next game."
