I have filmed this wonderful 1966 Porsche 906, also called 6, owned by the French Jean Cyril Rocheruring during the 2015 Vernasca Silver Flag. The car, which replaced the 904, was equipped with a 1991cc six-cylinder air-cooled boxer engine which developed 220 hp. Thanks to a weight of only 580 kg obtained using a tubular space-frame and a fiberglass body could achieve an impressive top speed of 280 km/h. In 1966 the 906 won the Targa Florio as well as numerous hillclimb races and in the same year finished 5th, 6th and 7th place at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Durante la Vernasca Silver Flag 2015 ho filmato questa splendida Porsche 906 del 1966 chiamata anche Carrera 6 e di proprietà del francese Rocher Jean Cyril. L'auto che sostituì la 904 era dotata di un motore a sei cilindri boxer raffreddato ad aria di 1991 cm³ che sviluppava 220 cv di potenza. Grazie ad un peso di soli 580 kg ottenuto impiegando un telaio tubolare di tipo space-frame e di una carrozzeria realizzata in fibra di vetro poteva raggiungere l'impressionante velocità di 280 km/h. Al debutto nel 1966 la 906 vinse la Targa Florio oltre a numerose corse in salita in Italia ed all'estero e nello stesso anno da segnalare un 5º, 6º e 7º posto alla 24 ore di Le Mans. Godetevi il suono del 6 cilindri Porsche ;-)
